Title: St. Thomas Chapel, Heaton, Norris
Post by: Tonge on Saturday 14 February 09 21:15 GMT (UK)

Can anyone please confirm if there is a record (Monumental Inscription) for the former gravestones that existed at St. Thomas Chapel, Heaton Norris available somewhere.

I have been stuck on an ancestor Richard Tonge, buried on 31 Jan 1869 at St. Thomas Chapel and hoping a burial record and (hope of hopes) a recorded grave maker inscription might help me finally confirm his parents are a Thomas Tonge and Mary Albertston.

Any advice and leads greatly appreciated.

Barry

Hi Barry,

The M.I.`s have been done and should be available at Manchester Central Library Local Studies.  They are also available at Lancashire Records Office at Preston.  See:

Dear Mo,

Great. Thank you for this  information I had googled the internet until I ran out of search terms and ideas for more than a week and was not able to find a reference.

Much appreciated.
