Hi,
This is desparation time.
I'm looking for Elizabeth ENNIS after 1880.
1880, at Newtown, NSW, she was divorced by her husband John ENNIS, co-respondant was William LARSON.
She would have been aged about 50 at that time.
She didn't marry William in NSW, probably not at all.
I can't find any subsequent marriage at all.
All her children were living in NSW at that time.
I have the 1903 Electoral roll for Ennis and she isn't on it.
I have never found any death for her in NSW.
Family members were in WA and NZ.
Some other names she is know to have used are;
Elizabeth Ann Balfour Davis, on marriage cert., 1851, Auckland, NZ.
Annie Davis. Grace Balfour.
Any help at all would be most appreciated.

She's probably in the same black hole as William and George Ennis who disappeared from Wisconsin at about the same time.

She just turned up on board the STATELY, is on their passenger list but not, apparently, on the list of female emigrants who boarded. :o ???
I don't appear to have a spare William or George. ;D

I am sure you have checked and discarded the following tow NSW deaths.
Do you know who her parents were?
There is a deathin Paddington in 1886 an Ann B Davis mother Margaret., and one for an Elizabeth Larson in NSW 1919 parents Taomas and Margaret in Redfern

as I said, she just pops up in 1851, I have no idea who her parents were.

I've sent to a researcher to do a check and verify look-up for the 1886 death of Ann E. B. Davis. This will probably take a couple of weeks to hear anything back. So I have my fingers crossed.

I hope dearly that there is more than just the transcribed name on the document.
It should have, parents names, place of birth and length of time in Australia might be there and spouses and children if you are lucky. (Should be there if the informant had the information) As well as cause of death.
Sometimes they are plain and uniformative if a stranger is giving the details. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

I can never think what info to check when I do one of these. I never thought, I should have aasked for name of informant. Never mind, this lady is pretty good and I put some details in the comments box, plus said I'd like to purchase the certificate if it's the right one. So I'm sure she'll do a good job.

The informant can be anyone present at the death, from a doctor, nurse, or family member, even strangers.
Family members can give more reliable information but necessarily accurate.
The same man gave details on both his father's and his mother's deaths in my research and the ages of their children on both certificates were a bit off!!! The order and names were right.
Sometimes an informant may be a previously unknown child of the deceased. This is really an exciting find. Siblings also prvide other exciting finds.
But I have two certificates where nothing is recorded, one says married particulars unknown (this man was a convict who had served his sentences married and moved states) the other died in a asylum and it just says particulars unknown. I hope to teace the asylum records oneday as these often have inforamtion which is not recorded on the death certificate.

I recieved the check-up of the Paddington death. Unfortunately it's not my Elizabeth Ann, she was only 2 weeks old. :(
So, as it stands, Elizabeth ENNIS, nee DAVIS is still missing, before 1851 and after 1880.
