I'm not sure if this is possible, but I was wondering if it is possible to find out which properties were owned by a particular person? My gt gt gt grandfather John Slater owned property in Jesmond and Gosforth (possibly whole streets) in the early to mid 1900s. My grandfather lived in several of them, but is unable to tell me exactly where.
Like I say I'm not sure if it's possible, but it would be interesting to find out. Unfortunately all assets were passed to my gt grandfather when John died and that is where the assets departed the family! All family records were destroyed so I have nothing else to go on. I do know that John lived in 14 Oaklands Gosforth in the 1920s and beyond and I presume he owned this property too.
Does anyone know where I would look for this information?

The Northumberland Record Office will almost certainly have deeds of properties, land ownerships, solicitors' papers etc. so have a look at their catalogue and see what they hold. It might be worth a search on the A2A site too. Did they leave wills?

The 1910 Land Tax is also a good source as it tends to list the owner of property and their own address. As you know the address already it would be easy to find in the documents. The entries often have cross references to other entries in the documents too. They are available at Wodohorn too.

Thank you, I will look at those sites to see if I can find anything.
There should have been a will, but I haven't found any evidence of it yet.
