Title: Manchester Cathedral: Marriage 24 May 1789
Post by: Tonge on Wednesday 11 February 09 04:00 GMT (UK)

I believe I have discovered a transcription error on the IGI and am asking for help in confirming with the original entry of a marriage at the Collegiate Church (Manchester Cathedral).

IGI indicates:
Marriage, Collegiate Church, Manchester
Thomas TONGE to Mary ALLBERSON
24 May 1789

Other records I have would suggest the Marriage entry likely to be:
Marriage Collegiate Church, Manchester
Thomas TONGE to Mary ALBERTSON
24 May 1798

Could someone confirm if the record is 1798 and not 1789 and the correct spelling of the Surname for Mary from the parish register?

Thank you (from a first poster)

Barry
