Where is/was Barlieth (sp?) particularly in relation to Hurlford Kilmarnock

Barleith I think is in Hurlford and it is where the Johnnie Walker plant is.

my mother was born there, .. B block Barleith .. obviously before the johnny walker plant which was just down the road from where the family moved to.

Yes it once stood where the Johnnie Walker distillery now is.
My Gran was born in Barleith, Block A or B... She recalls that there was very little room, only 2 rooms per house, one where all the kids slept and another where her parents slept and housed the stove. They had communal washing rooms and it was all very primitive! I have some photos I will have to dig out.

Would love to see the pictures of Barleith as I lived there from 1year old till I was 7 then we moved to Hurlford
