Hi
I would like to plot the streets my ancestors lived in on a map, to give me a feel to their locations to each other, I only lived in Liverpool when I was very young, so the locations on my families records do not make much sense to me. What would be a good old map to help me?
I have one map West Derby 1906, Godfrey Edition.
My family mainly lived in West Derby, Everton and Toxteth.
Thank You

Hi atticus
What streets are you looking for? A lot of my ancestors lived in similar areas to yours and I've a few Alan Godfrey maps which have been useful.
Edge Hill 1905 ( no 106.15 ) has a good portion of West Derby on it.
Cheers

Hi atticus
I'm looking for some of those streets on the 1905, but not found any yet ???
However another street map you may find useful is on a cd from S&N Genealogy Supplies.
It's C.1890 Street Map of Liverpool and very good.
I'll keep looking on this map in the meantime.
Cheers

Hi
Will look that CD up. Also found Sun Street, Maguire Street and Northumberland Street.
Thanks

Hi atticus
Nearly all of the streets you named are on the cd.
Holland St was on a more recent map, but Sun St, Low wood St and Ellesmere Rd I couldn't find.
I think the cd is a good bet, but if you are able to get to any family history fairs, there are often people there selling Alan Godfrey maps and you can check before you buy!!
Good luck
Cheers

Thank you Erika,
I think I will order in the maps first, if not get the cd.
I checked your names list none of mine on it
Thank you again

You may find the Sun Street in Toxteth Park area

Hi
Grafton St. and Northumberland St are in Toxteth Park. They are still here today. My house was built about 1875. I would assume the same for Northumberland St., as it's not far away from me.

Hi Red
That is very interesting, my family lived in both streets in the 1870's which tallies, number 56 Northumblerland,
I am thinking they lived in courts in Grafton St. When I get my head around this research thing I will come up to Liverpool, and look up the streets.
Thank you atticus

Thank you will enjoy looking at them. So nice to see pictures of the places my family lived, it makes them more real than just pieces of paper(mind those bits of paper help).
