Hello all,
I was wondering if anybody knew the address for this asylum. I am trying to find a relative that could be in there on the 1911 census, but need to enter a street name. Does anybody know it? I can't find it on the net.
Thanks.

The only address given is Crowthorne in Berkshire. There is no "street address"
-
It is on a road called The Terrace.
Full adress is Broadmoor Hospital, Crowthorne, Berkshire RG45 7EG
-
Broadmoor will have been enumerated as an institution - not as as individual household.

Hello
I too have a relative who was in Broadmoor about 1921 , all I know is that she worked in the laundry and that she was in Winchester prison before hand, also that she had a baby, rumour has it, a girl, but I'm not sure if that was in Winchester or Broadmoor. Is it possible to get records do you know?

Hi Susie
Just browsing through old queries. Did you ever get a reply re Broadmoor records?
I have knowledge of an inmate in the thirties and wrote to the Hospital giving as much detail as I could, together with a list of questions.
I received a lovely reply, very prompt, with all the details I needed and an invite to see the grave if I so wished.
They couldn't have been more helpful. If you haven't done so already try writing to them.
good luck

Old Broadmoor records have been deposited in the Berkshire Record Office - but there is 100 years closure of many/most of them see:
