Title: NICHOLS - Amlwch
Post by: Tyke B on Thursday 05 February 09 11:15 GMT (UK)
Hi

I'm wondering if anyone can help me find any Baptism or Marriage records for the Nichols family pre 1841.

I have a Richard Nichols b c1797 Amlwch, and through the great Amlwchdata site (1801 census) believe I have found his father James Nichols, wife and 4 children - 3 girls and a boy - at  Melin Adda, Amlwch.

Thanks in anticipation

Hi,

This group of Nicols may be related, and there is an Amlwch connection. In A2A you can see that
"John Nicholas alias Nicholls, butcher" occurs a few times in Anglesey.

Llanedwen 10.11.1784 marriage John Nicholas single of Llanedwen & Jane Joseph single of Llanedwen by license

Quarter sessions complaint 2.5.1785 against John Nichols of parish Llanedwen, yeoman

Llanedwen 23.7.1820 baptism John son of Richard Nichols & Elizabeth Solomon

Llanfaelog 24.6.1831 marriage John Nicols of Llanedwen & Margaret Ellis of Llanfaelog

Llanfaelog, Brynddu CM 22.4.1835 birth of Elizabeth d of John Nicols & Margaret Ellis, lab of Rhyd Ty (child's parish is Aberffraw, father's parish is Amlwch, mother's parish is Aberffraw)

Llanfaelog, Brynddu CM 19.6.1836 birth of Margaret d of John Nicols & Margaret Ellis, lab of Rhyd Ty (child's parish is Aberffraw, father's parish is Amlwch, mother's parish is Aberffraw)
