My family name is WALTON and so far with a little help from Helen O'Horer Ive got back to Thomas Walton b.1723 Waddesdon.
There are WALTON's in neighbouring Upper/Lower/Nether Winchendon going back as far as 1500 and some in the 1300's but I can't make any positive link.
Anyone got any info or ideas on how to take it further?
Thanks in advance from a first poster.

Hello - my name is WALTON also and I just came across your message. I am sorry to say that I have come up with the same dead-end in Waddesdon.
However.....maybe your research so far could help me a little. My WALTON ancestor is (gggrandfather) John WALTON (born c1829 Waddesdon). he had moved to Staffordshire by 1851. In his marriage certificate he lists his father as James WALTON.
I cannot find John or James in the 1841 census, nor can I find a birth certificate for John him in Waddesdon.
Has your research covered these WALTONS of Waddesdon and do you know who John's parents were and where they were in 1841? Or do you know how I can best find out.
Thanks for any pointers

As Waddesden is near to the Oxfordshire County line, I would suggest to look in the district of Bicester.
On the 27 Dec 1702 @ Bucknell, a William WALTON of Stratton Audley, married Mary Ward of Tingewick, Bucks.
He may or may not be a relation, but Oxfordshire is worth a look for marriages and baptisms etc.
There are around 80 marriages for male WALTONS in the OxFHS marriage index. from around 1573 to 1836.
Steve. :)

Thanks for the advice Steve.
Tonight I emailed Oxford FHS with an enquiry to run WALTON through the Parish Registers.
