Title: Memorial Inscriptions for Heyford
Post by: Keziahemm on Tuesday 03 February 09 12:18 GMT (UK)
I have located the burial of Thomas Linnell 11th October 1815, Heyford St. Peter and St. Paul.

When he made his will in May 1815 he was living Glasthorpe Grounds, not too far from Heyford, where his daughter was living, so am confident this is the burial for the Thomas Linnell I've been seeking for a number of years.

Have Memorial Inscriptions been transcribed for this church?

Kind regards
Susan  :)

Hi Susan

It does not look like the N.F.H.S. have them listed yet.

Yet looking through my grave photographs I seem to have the stone
although it is not very clear.

At the start of the row to show what condition most of them are in.

Wow Sandy, what can I say, that's fantastic, thank you  :-*

Thomas and Mary were my 5 x great grandparents.  Have been looking for the burial place for quite a while, it was only going through the Linnell burials in the NBI that I found this one and wondered,  I had been concentrating on Flore, as Glasthorpe was in that parish.

Can I be cheeky and ask if you have the headstones for his daughter and her husband?

Elizabeth Collins burial 10th February 1836 Heyford
Thomas Collins burial 24th July 1849

Kind regards
Susan  :)

Hi Sandy

Have found Mary's burial in freeREG transcripts -  5th September 1811, Heyford.  So that ties in with your reading of the inscription.

Thank you

Susan  :)

Hi,

Please excuse me, but I feel I simply must chip in here!!

My husband descends from the Thomas LINNELL you name, and his wife Mary nee RODDIS.  The descent is through their eldest daught Mary who married Abraham BARRATT in 1797 at Wootton in Northants.

Attached is the first page of what I have in my records.  I have the will of Thomas Linnell.

Kind regards,
Nancy.

Hi Nancy

I am descended from Thomas and Mary's son James.

Have been researching the Linnells for a number of years, there are so many William's, Henry's and Thomas' takes a bit of sorting out!  I have Thomas Linnell's will and a couple of Barratt ones.

Will send you a pm.

Susan  :)

Hi Susan/Sandy,

Just found this link so hopefully not too late in replying.

Thomas Collins and Elizabeth Linnel are my 3rd great Grand-parents, and as you probably know where married 22 May 1791 in Heyford.

I do have my own website with trees that follows this COLLINS family from Thomas and Elizabeth all the way to present:

http://users.zoominternet.net/~bcollins/

I also have a lot more detailed information in my database ............

Thanks for the photo of the gravestone !!!! .......... Regards ......... Barry Collins

Hi
I believe my ancestor (4GG) is Henry Linnell, Flore, (married to Betty). I think he is a relation to your Thomas Linnell...do you have anything to link them?
Thanks.
Nick
