Hiya
I feel a bit silly asking this, but i am really new to researching my family history, have literally just started.
Ive been given a name that 'could' be my great grandfather, and was wondering how i go about checking it out myself.
Sorry if the answer to this is obvious, like i say still trying to work out the census stuff etc.
Thanks

Hi! Josie
If you have or if you obtain birth certificates for your mum and dad, it will give you their fathers name and their mothers name - plus their mothers maiden names. This would give you a good start.
