				Hi Joker,

On IGI, there is an extracted record of marriage between John Horn an Marion Blackie on 15 March, 1850   Tranent, East Lothian, Scotland.

On the 1871 census there is a John Horn, born 1854, his mother and head of household is Marion,
48 who was born in Tranent.

Woah, I have just noticed I have a Mary Maxwell Greig in my tree, born 29th Nov 1856 in Cockenzie, daughter of Robert Greig and Jane Horn. She is the youngest sister of my GGGrandmother, Martha Greig, there were 16 in the Greig family, and Mary was the baby. I have quite a few of the family you are talking about.

 Tom
PS very confusing, horn with an e or without an e

				Hi Joker,

I got your pm with extra births of John Horn and Mary M Greig, that I did not know about, could do with birthplaces as well.

I have sent you permission to access my ancestry tree, you can start on Mary Maxwell Greig, my direct ancestor is her sister, Martha.

On my Cockenzie/Tranent  born Horne tree I have a John Horne b. 13th Nov1821 who's parrents were John Horne & Marion Howie married 27th Feb.1818 Tranent.
 Any Connection?
I have found looking at whole family groups in the area a good way forward. Most of this family were fishermen.i would be glad to share my tree to see if thier is any overlap.
As you would expect the surnames Grieg Blackie Ritchie feature in mine but it is difficult to work out from the few lines you have shared here.I think most of what I have is of the his parrents

				Hi
My gggrandmother is a Horne from Cockenzie (Janet Horne).  I have spent years researching the Prestonpans and Cockenzie families.  In the 1600’s and 1700’s there were migrations from Leith and Musselburgh to Prestonpans and Cockenzie.  Given that all four were main fishing ports, this makes sense.  Your John Horne looks to be born 24/05/1764 in Leith to a Peter Horne and Jean Shaw.  Also your John Horne 1821 married my
