Hi,
Can anyone help with this uniform. Other people in the general section were very helpful and advised me to place it here :) They think it is WW1 and possibly Lancashire badge, but I'm now wondering if it's the Royal Warwickshires?
Did mene generally go with a local regiment as the 2 families this photo could come from are from Worcestershire, Yorkshire, Warwickshire areas, however they were all in Warwick at the time of WW1.
many thanks

My guess is that it is the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment from the cap badge.

Can you do a higher res scan just of the cap badge?

Hi Ken
I will ask my uncle to sort that as he has the originals.
they guy on the restoration board thought that too, but we now think the Warwickshires as the top of the badge looks like the antelope?
also my family all came from Warwickshire and I guessed they usually entered a local regiment...
will post a better pic soon as :)

Pity we haven't got a better quality high res of cap badge. At a glance to me it doesn't appear to be the Loyal Nth Lancs.
To me the bottom part of the badge appear to be a bugle, which might mean light infantry, but that's just my opinion
failsafe

I'm sticking with my last thought, the Hind and the Warwickshires now the pen marks have been cleaned off!

* COMPLETED*
this is the man that belongs to the cap!
Just to confirm the regiment was the royal warwickshires....easier to see now, even with the blue ink on it.
sorry for the confusion with the navy man for anyone who got both posts...oops ;D
