Hi,
I am searching for Peter Gastrol DEAR. He was also known as Paul, so I'm not sure if Paul is part of his name or not.
The family's recollection was born in 1913, in Westcliff-on-Sea in Essex. (although some accounts of biography's say he was born in 1912) He died Peter Dearing in 1969 in Toronto Canada. He became a well known theatre producer and was a child actor in England.
Peter had an older sister, Marjorie Beaufort DEAR 12 Feb 1908
Older brothers: Kenneth DEAR, Howard DEAR, Ian DEAR and, Basil Clive DEAR 4th quarter of 1911
Their mother's name may have been Margot, or Florence. The father's name may have been Charles DEAR.
Sorry I don't have much more information.
I hope someone can help me find the birth or baptism information for Peter and or any of the other children.
Thank you,
Janice Davis,
Vancouver BC Canada

Assuming they were baptised - we would need to know which church they were baptised in. Also - baptisms could take place a long time after a birth (if at all) so it can be difficult without more info

Hi
Just thought - you could have a look at the 1911 census which is now available online
Marjorie should be listed so it will confirm if you have the right family
It will also give you the parents ages and birthplaces which will help trace them back on earlier censuses
The 1911 is on a strictly pay per view basis and is not included in any annual subscription but searching the index is free
It costs around 90 pence to see a transcript and around £3.00 for an image so is not cheap.
