Title: Willsher family
Post by: sadiej on Friday 30 January 09 21:36 GMT (UK)
Looking for any info on the Willsher family from Stonehouse on the 1911 census at 4 Aldergate terrace. What happened to them next? Can't find a trace, can anyone help?

Not without knowing their names and ages, and then only maybe...

Sadie,

You'll have to search the ONS bmd indices, and buy some certs after crossing your fingers.  You could spend quite a lot of money.  I suppose electoral registers might help too.

Of course, in a few years time another census will be available . . . .

Regards

Chas

Sadie,

There's not one of those children in the ONS birth registration index at http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl  for GLS so perhaps the family was only visiting Stonehouse.

One should always give as much pertinent info. as possible in requests.

Bear in mind that grandchildren of Albert and Alice might still be living.

Regards

Chas

P.S. You did mean from 1911 to the present I suppose ???

P.P.S.  Albert 1859 - not in freebmd but plenty of Alice Roberts all over!

Registrations for all those names appear under Stroud , albeit one or two slightly different years, and nearly all have a middle name.

There are three additional Willsher birth registrations in Stroud  - 1903, 1904 and 1905.

I'm sorry Chas -  that's where I found them - on FreeBMD   :-\

The second names are:
Florence Emily
Alice Kezia
Arthur James
Albert Ernest
Hilda Blanche
Percival Victor

No middle names are shown for Herbert, Reginald or Harold.

ChasH, I think you are mistaken.
I can only suggest that you entered something incorrectly or that the search failed to complete.

Amended middle initial for the Alices to K - couldn't decide whether it was one letter or two!

The dates were rather "out" to find on a +/-2 years search, so I didn't see them either - Chas PLEASE try making recommendations, rather than browbeating people!

I think a trip to Stonehouse is the next step. Visit a few tea rooms while I'm there.

Percival V Willsher  Q2. 1923  May Fletcher

Florence Emily Willsher Q1. 1904  either Joseph Holden Tocknell  or  George Frederick Turner
