Has any one been looking for GOODENOUGHs from Woolsery?
I have Grace born about 1821 who married Salathiel BALE in 1846
and Priscilla Born about 1831 who married William GREGORY in 1828
I think their father was John but would like to confirm that theywere indeed sisters and if they had other siblings Any help would be appreciated

Hi
Although this doesn't answer your question, I have the Goodenough name in my tree. The sister of my great great great great grandfather, Dorothy Heal, married John Goodenough born 1817 in Woolfardisworthy. The Heals were also from Woolfardisworthy.

Hi :)
In 1841 we have John (25) with Dorothy (30) Goodenough and their children; Thomas 4 and Robert EALL Goodenough.(Sybella's family).
Grace EALL 60 is also with them, as well as William Goodenough , 20.
Grace Eall (sic) has been rtranscribed as Grace Eall Goodenough but I don't see a 'ditto' under the Goodenough surname ..I think she may be Dorothy's mother
Next door we have;
Jos. Goodenough 30 and wife Penelop (30), children;John 10, Wm 5, Eliz. 3 and Grace 8months.
all living in Woolsery St
There is also a Susan Goodnough(sic) aged 21 working as a servant for the Burrows family in the village.
The closest I can find for Grace Goodenough b 1821 In the 1841 is a Grace GOODNEW who is a servant in Northam.
added ... there is also a Priscilla Goodnew in Northam ....along with lots of other Goodnew people ...I wonder if this could be them as both the girls end up living in Northam but born Woolsery.
Trees .... when did Priscilla get married ?...In 1851 there is a Pricella(sic) Goodenough aged 23 (1818 Wolfardisorthy) working as a servant in Northam.
deb
added ..okay Priscilla married 1853
and Priscilla Born about 1831 who married William GREGORY in 1828
;D ;D ..I though you meant that she married him in 1828 , 3 years before she was born. ROFL

just to confirm
In 1871 when William Gregory is With the Bales, William and Priscilla Gregory are still in Cross street, Northam with dau Grace aged 3.... William is not with them. So it looks good for William henry Gregory to be the nephew of Grace.
(William and Priscilla are telling fibs about their age though ;D )
