Does anyone know how I can make a list of one family name from my file without including other names through marriage?
I would like to send a list of one family from my file to a relative that includes names, dates and places as well as marriages and childrens details.
Can anyone tell me how to do this if it is possible, he doesn't want extended families but there are a vast number of names in this file.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

look under reports ancestor/descendent tree and change options in report to include or add. you can check what report will generate by printing to .pdf and viewing on screen. failing that email legacy and ask them.
I upgraded to legacy 7 and it includes software to generate different trees with charting software.

Hi Barry,
I have e-mailed Legacy 3 times and have had no reply and have had a look in reports as you say but when I did a print preview it shows that all extended families had been included as well.
I will have another look though. It's a bit big for me to print out just to see what is included, there are over 2,000 people with the one name.
Thank you for your reply.

I have gone to the earliest person with the name and tried a descendants chart.

If you are still having problems this may help

You can also print reports for focus groups - type focus group into the help menu. I haven't personally used focus groups though.
