Hi there
Having a predominantly English family tree I am totally thrown by my Great Great Grandmother who it seems was born in Ireland in 1880 / 1881.
Shown on her marriage certificate as Millicent Agnes Cormack but my Great Grandfathers birth cert says Amelia McCormack. He said she hated her name and had many nick names including Millie, and Amelia
Is there a way of looking at the 1881 and 1891 irish census' online to see if I can find her and if I do can irish birth certificates also be ordered?
Thanks

Unfortunately the 1881 and 1891 Irish census records have been destroyed long ago. 1901 and 1911 are, however, available.
Do you have any idea where in Ireland the family lived?
You can order Amelia/Millicent's birth certificate which will tell you the names of her parents and the exact date and place of her birth.
If you post the details that you do have we might be able to suggest other sources for information.

There's a few possible birth matches in the Irish BMDs on familysearch that could be worth following up :
Millisent McCormick - Coleraine 1877
Amelia Jane McCormick - Belfast 1880
Agnes Cormack - Castlederg 1882

Millisent McCormick - Coleraine 1877
Millicent McCormick, born 3 May 1877, was the daughter of Archibald Campbell McCormick (c1839-1911) and Mary Ann Johnston (c1844-1901). Although the registration district is Coleraine they lived at Bogvale, Carnrallagh townland in Aghadowey Parish.
