Hi
My Mother is unr the beleif that my grandfather (her father) Edward Halfpenny of Clayton Manchester (bn 1895) was a POW in 'the war'. She at first thought this was WW2 but when looking at the DOB it looks likely to be WW1. The family as a whole lived in Clayton/Newton Heath. The only recordI can find is a Victory Medal roll card on Ancestry for a Pte Edward Halfpenny of the South Lancs Regiment. Where can I find more on-line?
