Hi Laurence

Did John SARAH arrive alone (or with family) ?

Which New Zealand port did the "Ringarooma" arrive at in 1882 ?

.... from the NZ Marriage Index  :

John SARAH
Minnie RATGIEN
Year - 1886    (Folio # 0025)

Might this be "your" John marrying ?   (He would have been about 55 years of age in 1886)    ???

-----   there is a reference to "a John SARAH" of Kaeo, Northland, in the following newspaper.

"Observer"   1 August 1896 - page 17 - advertisement

(Scroll to bottom of page >  "Land Transfer Act Notices")

[I only did a quick search - there may be other newspaper articles available].

----   Probate record at Archives NZ (Auckland office) :

SARAH - John, of Hakaru, farmer - 1930

("Hakaru" is also in Northland).

Mmmm ... 1930 - (and you've said your John was born 1831) ??
