Happy New Year and thank you to the terrific restorers who kindly gave their time to restore my photo's in 2008. Here I am again in 2009 hoping you can help by giving some life to the wedding party by adding a splash of colour. As always, your kindness is very much appreciated. :) :)
My great auntie and uncle were married on a Easter Saturday on a magnificent sunny Autumn day in 1949. The church was decorated with Easter daisies and Autumn tinted dahlias.
The brides flower's were white roses, white tuber roses, white nerines and carnations. Her coronet was white (orange blossom). The bridesmaids dresses were mauve taffeta, and the flowers in their hair were pink cecil brunner roses with matching pink bouquets. Hair colour of bride and bridesmaid's medium brown.
The men's suits were dark blue and their ties were light blue.
Thanks and kind regards,
Aussielass xx :)

Seeing the beautiful jobs done on this photo reminds me of when I was little girl (many long years ago!); I always wanted to be a bridesmaid to wear one of the little veils they wore in those days!

Hi Carolyn, the colours are perfect as is your colouring, fantastic job and many thanks to my fellow Aussie. ;D
Don't know which part of Aussieland you live in, but here in Geelong, Victoria it is an absolutely beautiful Summer's day, presently a mild 21 degrees, beautiful blue sky and not a cloud in sight...... It is the annual yachting regatta this long weekend , the bay is dotted with boats and the sea plane and helicopter is busy taking visitors for joy flights. The Tall Ship "The Young Endeavour" is gliding elegantly around Corio Bay in the light breeze, and on the city waterfront there is outdoor dining and live music with the fireworks being the grand finale of "Aussie Day" celebrations tomorrow.
For those non Aussie's who don't know, tomorrow is "Australia Day" and a public holiday here in the land down under. Australia Day commemorates the arrival of the "First Fleet" in 1788 which was the start of British Colonisation of Australia. So "Happy Australia Day" for tomorrow !!!
Gee, sorry everyone, don't know what prompted that outburst of information, oh yes, it was Carolyn, with the parochial words "from one Aussielass to another" ;D ;D ;D
I just wish all of our non Aussie friends from the "RC photo resto board" were here to celebrate with us !! ;D ;D :-* :-*
