I have been the following details which I have not been able to confirm as yet.


William GAFFNEY born ca 1806 in Ireland
His wife:  Catherine (Unknown)

with their son:
Francis GAFFNEY born ca 1842 in Edenderry Kings County Ireland

Can anyone help in finding out when William and Catherine GAFFNEY married?

Also if they had other children?

I am also told that they lived in Preston Lancs ca 1860. (Not confirmed)

Parish records at St. Mary's, Edenderry, County Offaly shows a marriage of a Francis Gaffney to Anne Wheatly in October 1864. Could be a possible.

My Great Grandfather was from the Edenderry area (Cloncannon/Kilane) and married an Eliza Gaffney 12 feb 1866 at the Roman Catholic Chapel at Kilane, Edenderry, any relation?

I am not sure if you are related to my Francis GAFFNEY :-\

Yes, the marriage you have found for me is correct: details as below. 

Francis GAFFNEY and Ann WHATLEY married on the 9 Oct 1864.
They emigrated to Australia after 1864 & before 1868, Ann died 1878 in Queensland.
Their daughter was Mary Ann GAFFNEY born 1868 in Mackay Queensland Australia.

If you know of any family relations in Australia which may connect please let me know.
