I have attached an image of the rather large family ("rather" being an understatement, as my great-great grandparents Charles Davies and Agnes Menase had 13 children!), and from the clothes, I am assuming something like the 1910s or early WW1, but I just wanted to be extra sure I had my guess right of the approximate time era this photo may have been taken.
Also: is the woman in the 2nd row, 2nd from the left (the lady with the pudding bowl shaped hat) wearing a shawl, or is it some sort of cardigan?
Thank you for any help you can offer! :D

Hello Holly...I'd say right about 1910-ish, judging by the hats and the rest of the outfits. The "pudding-bowl" hat is actually a mushroom hat, pinned to the surface of a puffed-up hairdo called a pompadour, and not actually touching the head at all :)
But I think she's just wearing a white blouse...

I can't see a pudding-bowl shaped hat ???
Anyway, the lady you point out is wearing a white blouse with some kind of necktie/shirtfront attached to it (I don't know the name) that sort of hangs down the front.

Thanks for that interesting info on the hat. :) Yeah, I'd agree about it being 1910-ish as well.

Yeah, it looks like she's wearing something like that, something similiar to a shawl.

Yep, definitely a white blouse with some kind of necktie/cravat/bib thing tied around the neck and hanging down the front :) Thanks for the closeup, Dave :)

Cool! Welcome to Rootschat, Tom-Allan.
The original poster hasn't been on the site for five years, but if you make two more posts (anything at all) you can send her a PM and she might get an email notification.
