I'm searching for William MADDOX, b.15 Feb 1873 in Drybrook, Gloucestershire who was believed to have emigrated, without his family, to Australia about 1910. I have no idea of where he may have entered Australia. He was last recorded on the electoral register at Loughborough, Leicestershire in 1910, and has since disappeared from UK records.
I have searched what passenger lists are online and had absolutely no success :( - but I'm open to any help or assistance that you kind RootsChatters in Australia ;) with access to local resources may have to offer.

Whoops thought I may have found him on Qld Immigration Index

but have just read your posting again that your William was still in UK 1910

William had no middle name. His parents were Thomas Maddox and Emma (nee Phillips), and both were born in Gloucestershire. I've traced the rest of his family in the UK, but he (William) is the elusive one.

Have you any idea of William's occupation. There are a number of William MADDOX on the Australian Electoral Rolls to 1936. Perhaps William sailed to another country/destination before arriving in Australia and if so, his passage to Australia would not be on findmypast.
I have searched on A****y for his passenger record and although there are numerous Wm MADDOX they are mostly for coastal shipping and not identifiable by age.

William Maddox was a Superintendant of Insurance Agents by 1908, and was also a Methodist lay preacher. Thanks for looking and your input.

I'm aware of the William Maddox going to USA in 1910, but he isn't the one! Thanks anyway.
It's possible William may have used a variant surname: MADDOCKS, MADOCS, or MADDOC. Is there any chance that an Australian burial record could be found which would link to his age / date of birth?

I can't really identify him on the Electoral Rolls as the Wm in Queensland is a labourer and may have been on the roll at another address pre 1910.
I have searched in Victoria to 1985, South Australia 1972, New South Wales to 1978, Western Australia to 1953 and Qld death index finishes at 1929. I can see no death for a Wm MADDOX.
I think your statement who was believed to have emigrated, without his family, to Australia about 1910. may have said it all :-\
Is there any chance that an Australian burial record could be found which would link to his age / date of birth? I would think this is a nigh on impossible task. You would need to first find his death record. In Australia each State or Territory Government is responsible for its own the bdm records. There is no central body like the GRO. The dates in the 2nd paragraph are the limits that records are available in the various states but Qld does have deaths to 1964 on fiche. I can't help you with that however, as I live in a remote area with no library.
Another chatter may have more ideas on where to search.
Cheers

Edit to amend date on fiche
