Hi Rob
If you use the 'images' tab of google for searches, you should be able to see a selection. For example, on google I searched for Bredisholm Colliery and then 'images' and a few interesting photos came up such as this one - http://shrunklink.com/bnad - with a photo of Surface workers (apparently engineers and mechanics) at Bredisholm Collieries, Baillieston, c 1890.
You could try other searches with the 'images' tab.

Rob, do you have any addresses where your ancestors lived? Is it Bothwell village or Bothwell parish you are looking for? Bothwell parish takes in a lot of the towns surrounding Bothwell village

Hiya thanks for them links, will have a good nosey at them tonight, address is district of bothwell in the county of lanark, i think he worked in bothwell in the pit, and died same pit, have his death cert here, and rce, i cant make out his address, ? 52 ?row thornwood i think, ???

Thorniewood or Thornwood Rows - presently Tannochside (ish). There were 3 nearby collieries called Bredisholm No.s' 1, 3 & 4 with the Nackerty pit being the nearest - a couple of minutes walk along the road. These pits were latterly owned by United Collieries Ltd., other local pits were owned by Addie and Nimmo.
So Its Bothwell parish but not Bothwell village. Here is a modern day image with the name preserved, Nackerty pit was a wee bit north of the water tower on the A752.

Hi,
If you follow the link to Bygone Tannochside you will find 4 video/pic clips of still pictures of Tannochside/Thorniewood area that might be of interest. They were compiled by a Bill Brandon.
