Title: Obituaries in Glasgow Newspapers
Post by: RKNELSON on Thursday 15 January 09 20:23 GMT (UK)
I have been trying to get a copy of my Grandfather's obit from the Glasgow Herald, around June 11, 1937 - The Herald tells me the archives are housed in the Mitchell Library, and the Library has yet to get back to me.  Anyone know anything that may help?
Thanks.

The Mitchel Library Archives Section does indeed hold copies of the Glasgow Herald on microfilm.
How quick they are to respond to emails I'm not quite sure, as they get several hundred each day.

The contact details for the actual archives section are -
Archives and Special Collections
The Mitchell
North Street
Glasgow
G3 7DN
Phone: 0141 287 2988
Email: lil[at]csglasgow.org

Post your Grandfathers name and if known his address when he died here as you never know your luck some kind soul maybe intending going to the mitchel soon and look it up for you.
