Title: Death record - Edge
Post by: Rosa Xanthina on Thursday 15 January 09 16:05 GMT (UK)
I am trying to trace my grandfather's death record without success and am getting very frustrated!   I can't see him in the BMD indexes or Lancashire BMDs.  I never knew him and recollect my mother saying he had died before I was born - 1942.   He was Samuel Edge, b. 21 Sept 1864 in Liverpool.  He was a plumber and sweet-shop owner.   The 1911 census shows him living at 5 Blackbourne Street, Liverpool, but I believe the family moved to Falkener Square.  My grandmother lived just off Princes Avenue but I don't know if my grandfather had died before she moved there.
If anyone has any advice, I would be very grateful.
Regards
Rosa

I'm pretty sure lancs BMDs don't go up to that year.
FreeBMD certainly doesn't.(including it's copy on Ancestry)!

Did you look at individual GRO pages for each qtr or just whack in a name?

You will need to search the full indexes, quarter by quarter.

Is he shown as deceased on any marriage certificate of his children? Is he a witness on any marriage cert?

Does he feature in a business directory?
