Edward Beaumont is my ancestor wife is Dorothy do you have the will of Edward please?

Hello Sue1950,
It is 13 years since this thread was posted, I have not done any ancestry on my paternal family history for a few years and I can't remember if I have a Will or not for Edward ( off hand I think Edward had an Administration as think I would have remembered a Will) . Having said that, I would not give out information that cost me money for Wills/probate or time searching churchyard/cemetery MI's info or BMD's certificate that cost me, time, travel expense and money to find or hours of research in archives/libraries over many years.
If you contact the Borthwick centre at York university library (UK), they have WILL index books to look up Will numbers and then look for the copy of a Will (If there is one)and Will's are on microfilm. (If you want them to do a look up they will charge and the cost is not cheap)

Thankyou for getting back to me, I am just doing a bit more research on this line, what relation was Edward to you?

Off hand ?
GT umpteen direct father to son ( 8 or 9 lines ) granddads back - it goes John. James, John, William, Joseph, William ?, William, Adam, Edward. ( I May have 1 too many William's in list)

Sue,
I had a look at the Borthwick Index of Probate via Findmypast.
Probate for Edward BEAUMONT of Almondbury YKS 26 Sep 1693. Document type Administration. [edit not 1673 as i first wrote]
A copy can be obtained from the Borthwick through their document ordering service for £7.50 and it may take 6 weeks to arrive.
Most likely you will learn only the date of death and who was to be the executor of the Estate.
However you might be lucky. I got a 1842 Admon. for one of my ancestors. In the margin was a note about how the Executors were to be a couple of her children (and where they lived). A few other named children agreed they did not want to be involved. A son and two married daughters had “gone to America and were unlikely to return”. The son who had gone to America was my G4Gdad who had left his wife and children behind and I had been trying to find out what happened to him for years. Found he and his two sisters had settled in Prince Edward Island and a descendant of one of his sisters supplied me with details of their life in Canada and photos of their gravestone.

actual images on Ancestry - a bit hard to read, but definitely a burial of Edward s/o Edward in June 1633

What I do remember now, it was an Administration, that had Adam Beaumont (Edward's son) signature is at the bottom of the doc. So worth sending for - from Borthwick York.
