Hi All :) :)
Could someone please look and tell me the PR for Hacconby for a marriage/Death
of a Robert Booth about 1848/51
I know he was in the 1861 census as a widow with four children , the youngest
being born in 1858, so the wife he marrys must of died in Hacconby
1858/61, I think he remarried, in the 1871 Census his wife is listed as Patience
Thanks
John

Hi John
Anything in that period should be covered on FreeBMD at www.freebmd.org.uk, so looking there would be much quicker than waiting for a PR lookup.
For example, there is this marriage (Bourn(e) being the correct registration district for Hacconby) which may be the remarriage you refer to:
Marriage Dec qtr 1861
Robert Wiman BOOTH
Patient HALLAM
on the same page, Bourn 7a 657

1851 census shows wife as Mary Ann 29 (indexed ROOTH)
Burial 27 Jan 1859 Hacconby, Mary Ann BOOTH (38)
-
Remembering his middle name the second time he married -
Marriages Jun 1848
SCHOFIELD Mary Ann Bourne 14 417
WIMAN Robert Bourn 14 417
18 May 1848 at Sempringham
Robert WIMAN (son of John BOOTH) to Mary Ann SCHOFIELD (dau of James)
1851 gives Mary Ann born Pointon (Sempringham parish) - there was a Mary Ann SCHOFIELD bap there 13 Jan 1822 (of James and Anne)

Brilliant, Geoff! I wondered whether she might have been Mary Ann, given that that was the name of the only daughter in 1861, but couldn't find them in 1851.
Oddly, I can't find a death registration corresponding with a Jan 1859 burial - the only one in the district for a Mary Ann Booth was Mar 1860. Perhaps she died elsewhere?

I think I've seen an error like that once before in the NBI. Although ages are never set in stone, she would have been 38 in 1860. Perhaps that was the correct date. Perhaps it was the first burial of the year and entered wrongly.
