I need HELP.
I dont have much information to go back further on my maternal great grandmothers side of the family.
her name was Hannah Louisa Emma ROWLEY b. 1896 in Wolverhampton.
the only other information that i have is her parents were Joseph ROWLEY who married a Isabelle TIMMINS. I would like to know their date of births and where they were born. when they married and who their parents were.
did hannah have any siblings. did her parents have any siblings.
who are their ancestors - cousins aunts uncles great parents etc.
hannah came to australia in about 1916 with her first husband arthur cooper.
that is all i have on her english life.
any help to assist me further would be very much appreciated.
cheers from oz

Well, here is the marriage of Joseph and Isabella:
Joseph Rowley married Q3. 1891 Wolverhampton Vol.6b. Pg. 751
Isabella Timmins on the same page.
So need to look for them separately 1861 - 1891. Joseph first:
1861
RG9 P. 1986 Fol. 15 Pg. 26
May Pole, Wombourn, Staffs
ROWLEY
John Head M 45 Labourer B. Salop, Cloorly
Mary Ann Wife M 43 B. Staffs. Botham
John Son 13
William Son 9
Hannah Dau 7
Joseph son 4
Jane Dau 1
all children born Wombourn.
-
1871
RG10 P. 2929 Fol. 15 Pg. 23
May Pole, Wombourn, Staffs.
ROWLEY
John Head M 54 Labourer in colliery B. Staffs. Enville
Mary Ann Wife M 52
William Son 19 Labourer
Joseph Son 14 Farm Servant
Jane Dau 11 Scholar
George Son 9 ~
Mary Dau 6 ~
all except father born Wombourn
So it looks as if the George living next door with his family in 1901 was indeed Joseph's brother :)
-

Liz - well, I can't find Joseph in 1891 at the moment :-\
His mother was a 71 year old widow, living alone in Wombourn; I found brother George with wife and 4 children, and brother William with wife and 6 children - but of Joseph there is no obvious sign :( I'll keep looking ;)
There are two possible death regs. for John: one in 1882 born 1816 and another in 1884 born 1816 - and John says he was born 1815 :-\
-
Liz - Joseph had 4 other siblings :D
I looked in 1851
1851
HO107. P. 2017 Fol. 367 Pg. 7
Lower End, Wombourn
ROWLEY
John Head M 36 Coal mine labourer B. Shropshire Claverley
Mary Ann Wife M 32 B. Staffs. Bilston
Emma Dau 12
Harriett Dau 10
Sarah Dau 8
Eleanor Dau 5
John Son 3
all children born Wombourn.
In 1841 John and Mary Ann are living in Wombourn with Emma aged 2 and Harriett aged 7 months.
Their marriage does not appear on civil registration - but I found this :
Marriage : 19 Feb 1837 at Wombourn John Rowley and Mary Ann Worton.
-
Liz - these two following are possibles - taken from the IGI, they are extracted not submitted, so a bit more reliable, but would need checking on original records:
Baptism 11 July 1819 in Wombourn : Mary Ann Worton
Mother - Esther Worton. No father shown
Baptism 17 April 1814 in Claverley, Shropshire : John Rowley
Parents John Rowley and Elizabeth.
