Hi there,

I'm not a great fan of this magazine and am trying to find a catch!  You don't have to be a subscriber to New Idea, do you?  I can't find any reference to it on their website.

i had a look over the weekend. if you go to www.ancestry.com.au/NewIdea
it will bring the page up. i didnt see anything about it been new members only but will be changing email and credit card to pay. luckily my sub runs out 2 days after this offer closes so will be going for it

Fantastic!  I've been begging my hubby to let me subscribe to Ancestry, now I can save my breath and go for it!!  After all, 50% off is a great deal!   ;D

Last year ancestry had the same deal with SBS during the WDYTYA series. I joined then and my
membership will expire next month. This time it's a birthday present. All you have to do is remember
the date to cancel in time.

- and - who cares which magazine it comes with.  You don't even have to buy it.

can someone help me? Online the subscription fee is $299-95 aus dollars but when i ring Ancestry they say $449 95. What is the fee at 50% off?? Im confused  ???

Hi

Welcome to Rootschat. I think the 50% off offer finished a few weeks ago.

You probably need to clarify the prices you quoted with Ancestry themselves. Certainly the Australian website says $299 for 12 months for new subscribers only as a special introductory offer (you need to read the smallprint below) and then it renews at the standard rate but doesn't say what it is.
