Hi
My ancestor came from seagate i would like to know if there is such a place or was that a street?
I have tried to get it on the web but it puts up the name of a road. :)

Hi Gene,
Could it be the street called Seagate in the city of Dundee ?
Have a look at www.dundeecity.gov.uk/photodb/wc0589.htm and
www.dundeecity.gov.uk/photodb/wc0586.htm for 2 photos of it.

My Dad was born in the Seagate in Montrose in 1911. I remember taking him round that way some time in the 1970's and it had all been redeveloped.
I remember him trying to get his bearings, and in the end he said, "I must have been born about where that 'No Waiting' sign is"
Hope this helps!
