I am trying to trace the birth details of my Great great grandparents.
William Roe born in Ireland in 1816' Enlisted in the army in 1833 then with the Cheshire Regiment
to India in 1841 until 1854
My Great great grandmother was Catherine Wood born 1821 died in London in 1864
I know they were both born in Ireland, but that's all I know.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Can't help you with details that far back but our Fermanagh relatives spell the surname Rowe and were Methodists (for the last 100 years at least).

Thank you for that. I'll bear it in mind. So far all records I have including a 2nd. marriage are
all using the Roe spelling.

Thank you so much for your trouble. This could well be my great great grandmother. All my info
indicates she was born in 1821. I don't have any record of a second name so can't confirm
unfotunately. can you tell me what is the meaning of N/R
So nice of you to look for this for me, do appreciate your efforts. I'll look at the link you gave me.

N/R means not recorded - those details were not in the register
In this case - the address/residence and exact date of baptism
Some of the older registers do not have readable dates beside each record, and in these cases the date is derived from details of earlier or later records. In this case it appears that the year was all that could be worked out.
