Hi there - I am new to Roots. I have had a message from a contact in Australia telling me that someone on here is looking for information re Philadelphia Vinall. The lady in question is Jenn from Queensland - Marquessate. I have researched Philadelphia Vinall's family - back to the 'nth' degree and forward as far as it is possible to go - further than the 1901 census. If anyone knows her could you let her know I am here. If you see this Jenn - I know I can help you. Happy New Year everyone!

Anna - You are a little shining star! Thank you so much

HI Suzanne,
Saw your message and am intrigued. I am a descendant of Philadelphia vinall's (1808) parents. Philidelphia being a first cousin. I'd love to know what else you may have. And am happy to share my info too of course.
Apologies if we've already been in contact thru some other site :-[

Thanks Chris - I have only joined in an attempt to get in touch with this lady. My contact told me she was searching something I have a lot of information about.
You are obviously in England - I am in Wales but I do have two amongst my family tree that were somewhat forcibly encouraged to move to Australia in the 19th century! Consequently, I have quite a bit of info on some families there.
Having had a look around here, I think I am going to enjoy being here. I am going to look into what I need to be a full member etc
Bye for now

Hi Tulstig - Mark
If you let me know which branch of the family you are - which cousin you began with - I can let you know what I have. Also, it makes a difference if you are in Austrlalia or Britain. I have a lot on the Australian connection, although I am in Wales myself - convicts in the family! I can find anything I don't have concerning the British connection though.
Let me know what it is you need.
Regards
Suzanne

Hello there
Suzanne and welcome to roots chat, a lot of very friendly and helpfull people on the boards all over the world.
I am very excited over this contact as well as from MArk Tulstig
My Ggfather Alfred George Shoebridge parents were Peter Shoebridge and Phillidelphia Vinall. I have researched all over Oz as Alf arrived in Australia in 1851 on the Wanderer into South Australia from there his children went out to varying parts and he himself died at Bendigo in Victoria.
I hope to hear from you both.
and dont forget if you need anything in Australia try the emmigrants to Australia board, lots of people there willing and eager to help in your enquiries.
happy new year Jenn

Hello there
So I am assuming Edward VINALL and Mary ann Gower in 1851
will have a look for you.
I would suggest you post your request to the Australia Board, and include all the information you do have on them
When they were born and death details etc, I can see a number of children born to them in South Australia which you may allready have
kind thoughts
Jenn
