Hello and a happy new year to all of you.
I Hope that its ok to post here as i am new to the site.
My Family name is Pizzey and it seems the family came from the Middlesex area.
My grandfathers name was Ernest George Pizzey born in 1913 and we think his father's name was George Pizzey.
The family is very broken up and in fact my father (Ernest's son) moved and raised us in Australia were all the other brother's and sisters moved changing the family name to Steele. It was my father who found our old family name and changed it back.
Anyone have any interest in the PIZZEY name or have info would be really grateful if you could share.
Kindest regards
Jaymee

Hi Sarah
No i don't have his birth cert, just his date of birth 21/1/1913.
I know that's the first real step is to try and order a copy I was just wanting to see if anyone on here as had contact with the family name Pizzey is this area of England as it's not a common name.
As you can see i am very new to this family tree building stuff :).

Hi Jaymee,
On one of the outer twigs of my Davey tree I have a Horace Sidney Pizzey who married Winifred Kate Storey ( her mother was a Davey). She was born 6 Jan 1914 in West Ham, Essex and I know that at one time they lived in Brownhills, Staffordshire. Haven't researched them yet and don't have any more information. Don't know if there is any connection with you

Hi Jaymee
The land area of Great Britain might be relatively small in Australian terms but the population is not (in 1911 nearly 45½ million which is more than double the size of the Australian population today) so even relatively unusual surnames have reasonable numbers of people with those surnames. The 1911 census for only England and Wales shows 609 Pizzeys (245 of them in the London and Middlesex area). That's quite a few Pizzeys just in London and Middlesex and doesn't include the 162 Pizeys.
You really do need to purchase Ernest's birth certificate to narrow down the search for your Pizzeys but the date of birth you give does not have a birth registration for an Ernest George Pizzey or Pizey or a George Ernest.
The nearest to the date is
Births June quarter 1912
Pizzey George E Baldwin Edmonton 3a 1289
What information is given on your father's birth certificate about his parents?
Regards
Valda

Hi, I think I am in the right family here....my father is Leslie John Warren (b.1931), born to Albert Victor Warren b. 1896 d. 1979) and Kathleen Mary Pizzey (b. 1911 d. 2004). They were married in Brentwood in 1929. My nan Kathleens (Kitty) mother was I believe called Ada, and her father was George Pizzey. I think that Ada married her brother in law Thomas Bert Pizzey when George died, and I do have an old photo of the two of them. But that's about all I know of the family. Does anyone have any further information? Thank you :)

I don't understand this site and don't know how I got to see your message, and also sorry for spelling mistakes. Love to hear from you.
