I am looking to find information on my Great Uncle Geoffrey Victor Samuel Wright who was born in Edmonton London on the 20th April 1922. His parents took him to Singapore c1930 as his father Ralph Victor Samuel Wright was an Army Bandmaster.
At the time of the invasion of Singapore during WW2 his father was taken prisoner until the island was liberated. Geoffrey and his mother Elsie Florence Wright ( Nee Chick) manged to get out on one of the last boats to South Africa around 1942.
What I do know about Geoffrey is that he became a Doctor and was married with at least two children.
What I would like to find is a marriage certificate for him and any information on his children as they may be alive today.
If you could help me in any way that would be much appreciated.
Happy New Year !!!
Regards
Richsea.

Looks like he was in Rhodesia in the 1950's. This is from Google Books:
"Central African journal of medicine
Medical - 1955
Dr. Geoffrey VS Wright, of Salisbury, has been elected a Fellow of the Faculty
of Anaesthetists of the Royal College of Surgeons. England"
-
Also per Google Books, GVS Wright, MRCS, LRCP, DA was a senior lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe in 1984.
-
He was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the RAMC in 1947

hiya. As mentioned in the search Geoffrey was my Great Uncle. My family lost contact in the 60's. Elsie ( Nee Chick) was my Grandfathers Stanley's sister. I would love to find out more...
How are you related ?

Hi I'm Geoff's daughter-in-law. I married his son (the youngest of three children). I've received your PM but I understand I have to post three messages via this route before I can send you a PM. I'll stay in touch.
