I have recently found the grave of my 5th great grandparents Richard Stanton and wife Hannah.
Sadly when i found it the grave stone was damaged and all the writing has gone.
Iam lucky to have found the microfiche with the grave inscription on it that was taken in 1981.
I would be greatful to anyone who can add the writing back onto the grave stone for me.
Here is what was once on the stone:
To the memory of
RICHARD STANTON late of Grange Mill Who died April 22nd 1855
Aged 66 years
Also of HANNAH wife of the above who died 2nd January 1870
Aged 83
Thank you all so much in advance.

Hi Vanessa, here is my attempt.
I had to reduce the size to upload it but if you want a larger copy I could e-mail it direct to you.

Those are the kind of effects I worked with before I began restoring photos. I've almost forgotten some of the old tricks ;) .

:D WOW these are wonderful !!!!
Karen for a second my husband had to question himself about if the writing was on the stone before the pic was took or not lol Looks real.
Will look forward to seeing if someone else will have a go :D
I guess its easier to add the writing onto the stone when theres no more writing on it. :)

P.S you have all made my birthday more special. thanks so much for helping

Happy Birthday and I'm glad you like it. I know how devasted I was finding my ancestors graves in Ireland and there was no writing left nor any transcriptions available. You are lucky to have one ;) !!
I'm still playing around and here's a last version before I hit the hay.

wow Karen, brilliant job.
hey does everyone want a good laugh. :D
Margaret looked at the photograph but did not read the request properly, decided not to even try and tackle it as could not see any writing.
Then .... a couple of hours later she notices that a lot of people had done some work on it.
She checks it out!
What, she thinks, how on earth did they read that information from that photograph (note* Margaret has been working on Prue's pic at same time)
Ok, time to take my medication now ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D
