Hi,
I'm looking for the parents, sibs, etc. of Hugh Gracey b. Feb. 19, 1855; d. Feb 27, 1930. His father's name was Robert Gracey.
Hugh Gracey married Eliza Jane Heron in 1882 in Lurgan, and they and their 11 children lived on Shillington St. in Portadown in 1901. At that time he was an Urban Council Officer.

The townlands mentioned where the Gracey's lived are between Portadown and Lurgan roughly equal distance between the two towns.

Hi Mary,
I think the Robert Greacy/Jane Albin marriage might be the right one (with the wrong spelling on Robert's surname!) Two reasons: I think Church of Ireland in Portadown is more likely than the Civil Registrars Office in Newry, and
Hugh Gracey's first child's name was Alexander Albin. Is there any way to find out anything further on this family?

Would anyone be able to help me find the children of Robert and Jane Gracey in Portadown? I believe they were the parents of Hugh Gracey, born 1855 - am looking for his siblings. Are there any census reports?
Thanks,
cassiar

To Cassiar,
Ive started researching this branch of the Heron/Gracey family and I would very much be interested to know what you have learned. I am a descendant of Frances Gracey, daughter of Hugh and Eliza Jane.
I very much look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Laura,
I'm so glad to hear from you.
Which of Frances' daughters are you descended from?
I have a fair bit of Frances' parents and sibling info if you don't already have that, and some photos and stories, but have hit a roadblock in trying to go further back.
I can let you know what I've tried.
Would you like to communicate via PM?

Hi,
Laura will have to make another couple of posts to use the PM system.

-
I am very happy to hear from you as well! So quickly!
My grandmother is the daughter of Frances Gracey and William Collins, her name is May!
Apparently I have to write a couple more posts to use the PM, however would you mind emailing me directly?
Thanks again!
-
I'd like for us to e-mail each other, but you don't want to put your e-mail address here. We'll exchange e-mail addresses via a PM so that it's just between you and me.
So send a couple more posts right away and then we'll be able to do that.
Are you just beginning the family history?

Sounds good to me!
I am, I am now a student in Belfast so I have the direct means of finding and locating different information. Its much easier to be here and locate information, then be in Canada and try to look at sources at that only internet serviced. However, May was really excited to do some work of her own, but she hasn't been back in a while so I have decided to do some work on her behalf.

I am so excited to see what you have researched, I have also hit road blocks of my own.
