Hi

The IGI entry for this marriage is a submitted entry so is unreliable.  It is based on somebody else's assumptions as to the year and place of marriage

John Palmer   Birth:  1776   Brideslow, , Devon, England

Spouse:  Mrs Ester Palmer   Marriage:  About 1810   Winchester, Hampshire

John Palmer married Esther Collins 26 August 1811, St John, Winchester.

Welcome to RootsChat, Harleyrider

I think you might mean 1789 for the marriage  ;)
