Around what date do you have a record of it?

My great great grandfather, James Hastie and his wife Margaret Brownlie Fyfe lived in it around 1860 onwards and died there in 1907.

I am also researching the family who stayed at this house, I am the great-great grandaughter of James Hastie.  Will someone please contact me about this subject?

I have just read the PM rules and see that I have to have made 3 posts before anyone can contact me.  I know it's a cheat, but this is number 2 post.

1891 census shows Greenlees Road. You can take a virtual walk with Google Street View and there are some old villas there. A walk along the street might show the house names.

I had done all the census stuff, but was assured it had been on Hamilton Drive.
I now know that it was definitely on Greenlees Road, in fact the question has been answered totally, but thanks for everybody's help.

Hello Taylorcat
This isn't an answer to your specific enquiry but it may help fill out some detail.
When I was a lot younger (about 1964/65) I was taken on a school visit to James Hastie's bakery. It was a commercial operation over a number of floors and was situated to the east of Greenlees Road, opposite the end of Hamilton Road. The company was quite substantial. I can remember there being a number of shops throughout Lanarkshire and the south of Glasgow.
Good Luck with your search
Bill

Thanks Zeebra, the bakery is still there, just off Greenlees Road.
