Title: BURIALS in MID CALDER - Porteous
Post by: manxmaid on Saturday 20 December 08 16:10 GMT (UK)
Can any kind person find the burial for 'Alexander Porteous' who died on the 20 May 1852 aged 88c.

Alexander was living in Brookbank, Mid Calder on the 1851 census with his daughter and son in law the Ferriers, he was born in Newlands, Peebles, and was a Shepherd.  1841 census Alexander Porteous was living in Colinton.

Also if there is any record for his wife Jean (Grace) Porteous nee Watson she died after 1809 and before 1841.

I suggest you contact West Lothian Cemeteries team on 01506 775240 (http://www.westlothian.gov.uk/law-licensing/640/648/CemeteryandBurialgrounds) to see if your ancestors are buried in Mid Calder.
