Title: John Grant and Helen Gordon

Looking for info on John Grant (poss born Rathven Banff) and Helen Gordon (1787 Bellie Moray).  Married Rathven 1808.  Lived in the Hilton area and had 9 children between 1809 and 1828.
Any death info would be appreciated. Thanks :)

There are Hil(l)to(w)ns in almost every parish in Scotland, so you need to specify which parish you are interested in.

Was this Hil(l)to(w)n in the parish of Banff? If they lived in the parish of Banff there might be a stone in the old graveyard. There are inscriptions online at http://gen.deltanz.net/gen/banff/churchyard.html

If you do not already have the census information, there are transcriptions of the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census of the parish of Banff online at http://freecen.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

Thanks for your advice Forfarian.  Yes this family resided in Hilton Banff.  Thanks for the links - I'll try them.
