A real long shot as i dont have much info, but could someone please look up Sarah Rodgers/Rogers born c 1843 her father was James Rogers who was a sailor
Thanks
-
Theres quite a few Rogers (no Rodgers) - only one with Father James, a Silk Weaver in Bethnal Green
None show as having just a mother - except a lass (c1844, born Middx) in Brixton, Surrey, with her Aunt Esther Emerson ......
no other info at all - later marriage, witnesses etc ?
:)

Only have a marriage certificate dated 1873. She was marrying John William Taylor. According to this Sarah was a widow and her married name was Bell and shewas living at 63 Greenbank st SGITE. The marriage happened at the reg office in St George in the East.

witnesses ?
any luck tracking down the first marriage ?
-
ah, I see in the Marriage Index she was named Sarah BELL Rodgers - so did the names actually spell out Sarah, late BELL, formerly Rodgers ?
-
Says Sarah Bell Rodgers Widow, do notice that on her sons birth cert it says Sarah Bell Taylor, late Rogers, formerley Rogers. Cant read who the wits are
-
The Bell is probably an ancestral maiden name passed down, and the new info does suggest she was a Rogers marrying a Rogers !
-
I thought that too, but i havent been able to find a marriage.
-
Does her age (b c 1843) come from a census entry? If so, what is the reference?
