Title: Royal Marine
Post by: eric17w on Monday 08 December 08 18:04 GMT (UK)
Hi,    I wondered if anybody could help me with an intriguing photograph I found on
another site, the picture shows a regimental photo of the Royal Marines Light Infantry
at Deal and in the photograph there is a marine that could be my Grandfather. I wondered if there is a photographer with a keen eye that might confirm my belief that this is indeed a
possible picture of grandad. I have the image off the group photo and three other pictures of my grandad taken in later years.  I would be gateful for any opinions on the subject
Kind regards Eric

I can understand why you think it's him, they are almost identical.I notice your
grandfather favoured a moustache with that tweaked Salvador Dali style,
absent in the original.Other than that I would say same man.

Hi Jim,  Thanks for that, I have been searching for any details of his service record for years
and when I came across a picture! I couldn't believe my eyes that's why I wanted a second opinion. Once again many thanks
Eric
