Could someone please point me in the right direction?
I am looking for postcards showing Bearwood High Street,
The Church on the corner of Upper Saint Marys Road,Smethwick
and Lightswood Park.
I have tried via the internet but come up blank.
I am sure someone on the brilliant site will have an answer to my question.
Many thanks,
Shirlann.

Hi Shirlann,
There is a picture of Smethwick church on this site. Pictures are continually being loaded on here so it is worth checking every now and then. Sorry, have no idea about postcards though. :(

Hi Shirlann,
I noticed that you have an interest in the Waldron-Jones family of Smethwick.
I had a look at your posts and see that Violet Waldron had children in 1927 so am not sure how this would link in with my own family as my Dad was born in 1924 in Talbot Road, Smethwick. He had brothers Burt, Frank, Stan, and Ken and two adopted brother one of whom was Derrick. He had two sisters called Beryl and Barbara. My Dad's name was Vernon Jones. He told me that the family had also been known as the Waldron-Jones' in the past but we thought this was a story. However my cousin Mark Jones once played for Aston Villa and on Wikipedia it gives his name as Mark Waldron-Jones
Would they be related to your Waldron-Jones' in Smethwick?
Many thanks

I got some old postcards from an antique fair in stafford. Different prices , can easily find ones priced at £2.50 and £5.00.They were n't of smethwick though but you may find some. They can be a bit pricey for what they are. A lot of local history books are being written in the midlands area also. Better to see what you can get free first as this hobby can be expensive.
