Title: Musson
Post by: mig on Tuesday 02 December 08 14:22 GMT (UK)
I am researching the Musson family who were probably boat people centred on Wolverhampton. I have a Thomas Musson who married a Sophia Skinner. Can anyone shed any light for me please.

Cheers
Margaret

Hi Margaret

Could you give some details of birthyears for Thomas & Sophia and whether they had any children

Do you want help with census lookups or do you already have all available details

Hi Margaret

My name is John Musson I joined RootsChat today 18 July and saw your post re Thomas Musson and Sophia Skinner. You are correct they were canal boat people, their ancestors worked the canals into the 20th century, my Grandfather John William Musson being the last, he was top lock keeper on the Shropshire Union Canal where it meets the River Mersey at Ellesmere Port.

Thomas and Sophia Musson were my Great Great Great Grandparents, they had a son William Musson who married Martha Boaz, William died on his boat in 1899 and is buried at Ellesmere Port.

I have gathered considerable data on my ancestors, if I can be of assistance please let me know.

Kindest regards

John
