I'm looking for any information regarding my Blackwell family. The earliest Blackwell that I've been able to trace is George Blackwell (b. abt. 1823 Ireland d. 1873 St. Pancras, London) and his wife Mary Honor? (b. 1821 Ireland d. aft. 1891 London). George and Mary immigrated to England @ 1850 and first settled in Edgbaston.
They had the following children:
Bridget M. b. 1844 Ireland
Patrick T. b. 1847 Ireland
Kate b. 1854 ?Handowark?
John Ernest Blackwell b. 1857 Edgbaston, Birmingham
George b. 1859 Smethwick, Staffordshire
William b. 1860 Smethwick, Staffordshire
Agnes 1862 Edgbaston, Birmingham
Eleanor 1864 Edgbaston, Birmingham
Most of the family eventually settled in the London area. My line (John Ernest Blackwell) immigrated to the U.S. and started a military school in Long Beach, California. Though John was born in England, he would claim he was Irish born.
If anyone could shed some light on the origins of my Blackwell family I would greatly appreciate it. Knowing the Blackwell name is of English origin only mystifies me more.
Thank you for your time,
Deane

As you will know there are a good few say before 1820 Blackwell records in Ireland as reported by www.familysearch and some for Honor Honner etc. How do you know about the irish birth years for the earliest childrens. Official Birth registration started a bit late for them. Any clues
keep going, Jim
