My ancestor came from Coldstream and I have now hit a wall with my ggggrandfather Andrew Dunn and his wife Elizabeth Dunn nee Wood.
Andrew was a millwright who married in 1790 at Coldstream. They had ten children, eight boys and two daughters born between 1792 and 1812.
Has anyone got a trace on the Dunns in or around this area to give me a direction or location to follow Andrew's birth place or more importantly his father, please?
Thanks
Richard Dunn

My ancestor Mary (Ann?) Dunn (born abt 1816) married James Brown (born abt 1816, dead by 1851?). They had an irregular marriage at Coldstream in August, 1833 and then married in Dunbar on 1st September, 1833.
I have no information on Mary before that date but have a line from them to the present day.

Hi jamessunst.
In my wife's tree there is James Brown married to Mary Ann Dunn 1/8/1833 at Swinton & Simprin, after a irregular marriage at Coldstream 16/8/1833, ( were rebuked and had this marriage confirmed).
Possible James born/baptised 9/11/1814 Chirnside, parents Robert Brown & Elizabeth Temple, 1841 Banbury Close,Dunbar he died before the 1851 census.
1841 with wife, Adam 1837, Mary Ann 1837 & Robert 1835, was in Coldingham by 1843, William 1843, Elizabeth 1847 & Catherine 1850.
Mary Ann b.26/5/1812 Coldingham, died 22/3/1887 Swinton, parents Adam Dunn & Mary Ann Richardson.
Any Help?
