Title: Colonel Thomas PRIDE
Post by: Pete E on Saturday 05 February 05 12:58 GMT (UK)
Thomas Pride was a Parliamentarian officer :) during the civil war, famous for his purge of parliament ;D. He is believed to have been born in somerset (St Brides parish?)
If anyone researching in somerset has come across this gentleman or his family I would be grateful for any information.
Many Thanks

I realize that this thread is from 2005, yet am very interested in Colonel Pride.

I am John Pride, from Virginia (Richmond).  my family dates our beginnings to the end of the Cromwell era.

We've traced our roots to two cousins, forced by the backlash against Cromwell's supporters to sign on to seven years as indentured servants in Virginia.

At any rate, Id apprecaite a response from anyone monitoring this thread.

Hi John Pride,

I too am a descendant of the Pride family who were in Henrico Co., Virginia in the 1600s. If you are still researching Col. Thomas Pride I would appreciate a response. I look forward to hearing from you.
