I have a Jemima Henry who married in Dundonald Church of Ireland on 7.11.1902.
Fathers address is given as Drapersfield,Cookstown, Since she married in Dundonald I am wondering if the family lived in that area prior to the wedding.
Family is Archibald and Ann(nancy) Henry, and others daughters could be Mary, aged 30. Margaret,Jemima,.
If some one has a directory for this period, and Dundonald is not too big an area, could you please look for Henry,s.
I know this is a long shot, but I have tried everything else.
Many thanks Curley

If the address "Drapersfield, Cookstown" is from the marriage certificate it will be the bride's residence at the time of the marriage but may not be where her family lived.

Hi Aghadowey.
Thanks again for your quick reply.
Yes that is what I am thinking. I did all the Cookstown 1901 census at PRONI on Wed and could not find the family. Had not time to look up Dundonald where I suspect the family must have lived .before returning to Cookstown. Archibald died in Drapersfield 1912.

Hi Maryderry.
Thanks for your interest in my post.
You are absolutely correct with your marriage and birth.
Mary is obviously the first child born 1872 ,my problem is I don,t know how many more as Jemima was 21 at marriage, born 1881. quite a gap.
See my post to Aghadowey to help get a feel for my queries.
Many thanks again

Archibald Henry wed Anne-Nancy Neil
From what I can find, their children were Jemima, Sarah, Annie, and Mary
Jemima wed Thomas Anderson but passed at age 34 in 1915 (together they had 5 sons: Samual, John, Archibald, James, Thomas)

Curley- did you ever find the family in 1901 (and 1911) census?
-
Hi Aghadowey.
No could not turn up the family in either, also tried Scotland, but no success.

Have to say they are driving me crazy- have been searching under all different combinations of search terms without a clear match. Do you know what religion they were?
-
Hi Aghadowey
That,s two of us.
Church of Ireland.
Thanks Curley

Hi Curley,
Jemima Henry was my great grandmother.
What is your connection to the Anderson-Henry's?
-
I'm wondering if the Henrys were Church of Ireland. Have been through the online records for Derryloran Church of Ireland without finding baptisms for any children of Archibald Henry-

I keep coming back to this couple Archibald and Nancy Henery who are listed as Methodist-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Tyrone/Coagh/Tullyweery__Red_Row_/1727414
Or perhaps a better match (Church of Ireland, born Co.Tyrone) in 1911- Terressan is just east of Cookstown-

Which seems to match what you've previously posted on another thread-
Found this death notice in Mid Ulster Mail of May 4, 1912
Archibald Henry ,at his residence, Tyressan April 30 1912. Interred in Clare Churchyard.
I think this is the same Archibald Henry born 1847,in Drumnaglogh,Cookstown and married to Nancy Neill in Derryloran C.O.I on 1870.
According to civil registration index Archibald Henry was born c1852.

Hi Aghadowey.
Having been fooled for many years by the different spelling of Henry as against Henery. I am now convinced that the 1901 Archibald Henery is the correct one. The age of 53 adds in with his baptism records in Kildress Parish Church,
Also the record of a nephew George S Henery living with him answers a missing person from my Great Grandfathers family at Strews Cookstown, ie Joseph Henry whowas widowed, and George bieng the youngest of a family of four, obviously was sent to live with his Uncle and Aunt.
Elizabeth,a daughter is a new one o, obviously born around 1883.
Where the Methodist comes from I don,t know, as he was baptised Church of Ireland and interred in the same Church,ie Kildress Church of Ireland.
Another mystery is Elizabeth, making possibly 5 daughters ?
Following on the 1911 one you quote looks correct, the ages look suspect. ,and change of religion means what?
Looking at the birth of Lizzie in Durham could lead to the missing baptism records.of all the family.
We will keep searching.
Thanks again for your help

Hi Sheila
Thanks for that, obviously an Anderson connection.
My Grandfather Joseph Robert Henry was a first cousin of Jemima Henry, so I am possibly a first cousin twice removed.
Looking forward to hearing from you again

Hi All
Had a breakthru this afternoon.
Found Archibold Henry,Nancy Henry, Daughter Sarah J, aged 4 and Rosanna Donnelly, Step Daughter aged 11, all born in Ireland.
This information is in the 1881 census for Gateshead,Durham, as found on Durham requests.
Mystery now is who is Rosanna Donnelly as Nancy,s maiden name was Neill in the marriage of
30 May 1870.
Possibly this query is more suited to Tyrone. No sign of the family in England in 1891 census ,so presumed having returned to Tyrone.
On reading his obituary in the Mid Ulster Mail again I find that two preachers took part, one at the house,a Rev Clinton ,who in fact was the Methodist Minister in Cookstown, and Rev Young at the graveside in Kildress, the rector of that parish. So Archie must have attended the Methodist Church after returning from England.
Thanks
Curley

The Henry farm is directly across the road from ours. My great great grandfather bought it after Archibalds "death".
I can try and find out where they went after the left the farm if you like?
